A U.S. Coast Guard major was arraigned Monday on gun and drug charges in a box authorities contend related him to a tract to killed several distinguished Democrats and promote journalists.
Christopher Hasson, 49, pleaded not guilty to charges of bootleg possession of firearm silencers, possession of firearms by a drug addict and wrong user, and possession of a tranquil substance.
Hasson was arrested final month in a parking lot of a Coast Guard domicile where he had worked for 3 years. A hunt of his Silver Spring, Md., unit incited adult 15 firearms, including 7 rifles, and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition.
According to court documents filed by a government, Hasson was a self-described white jingoist who hoped to settle a “white homeland” by aroused means. He also allegedly drew adult a computer-speadsheet strike list with a names of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, and other high-ranking Democrats, as good as MSNBC hosts Chris Hayes and Joe Scarborough, and CNN’s Don Lemon, Chris Cuomo and Van Jones.
Hasson was not charged with terrorism. His original open defender pronounced sovereign prosecutors were exaggerating his intensity ties to terrorism.
He faces adult to 31 years in jail if convicted on all of a charges opposite him.
