LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – On Sunday, students and visitors during UNL listened from a Lincoln male who is months divided from violation a universe record after roving all over a United States.
From Guam to Alaska, Lincoln local Mikah Meyer has trafficked in his outpost all over a country, attempting to set a World Record by visiting all of America’s 419 National Park Service Sites.
At UNL he common pictures, videos and a proclivity behind his journey.
Its been scarcely 3 years and Mikah Meyer has visited 389 National Parks though his tour is not over yet.
His outing started after he mislaid his father to cancer when he was 19.
“It taught me a unequivocally critical doctrine about life being brief and us not removing a time we consider we’ll have to follow a dreams,” pronounced Lincoln Native, Mikah Meyer.
At age 30, Meyer motionless he was going to make a many of his life and respect his fathers adore of highway trips.
He afterwards took off in his outpost and has been roving since.
“I got to go to all of these places that we suspicion we would never get to in my life,” pronounced Meyer.
From Colorado, Hawaii and behind to Nebraska, Meyer says each park has been special.
“Getting to see those dark gems, those different sites, that’s been a many implausible part,” pronounced Meyer.
With 29 parks left to visit, Meyer’s tour will come to an finish on Apr 29th.
The 14th anniversary of his dads passing.
“To start and finish this tour on a day that has been really unhappy for over a decade for me, we wish allows me to re-purpose into something triumphant,” pronounced Meyer.
As for whats next, Meyer says this Fall he wants to start another highway trip.
This time, following a Husker Football group to each game.
“I now wish to share Nebraska with a universe and uncover off all that we have while regulating Cornhusker Football to do that and uncover people how extraordinary Nebraska is,” pronounced Meyer.
