Ridiculous: Redskins play Thanksgiving Day in Dallas after Sunday night game

Coming adult with a NFL report is an toilsome charge and a no-win proposition. There are so many opposite parties to keep happy (teams, coaches, front-office suits, radio executives, track schedulers) and so many probable variables (bye weeks, primetime games, throwing any group on a Thursday, ensuring good games for Sunday’s dual late games widespread out over 17 weeks) that it’s no warn teams have beefs with how a final outcome comes out. It’s destined and unavoidable. Someone is always going to be ticked off. (The Raiders, for instance, play four games in 18 days starting with their Monday night win in Mexico City.)

There have been a few report quirks this year that have understandably made teams upset, and we’re right now maybe in a center of a misfortune one: The Washington Redskins had to play a home diversion during 8:30 p.m. ET on Sunday night opposite a Packers before schlepping to Dallas for a 4:30 p.m. ET Thanksgiving game, an 88-hour turnaround. The Vikings have a tough turnaround too — going to Detroit for a 12:30 p.m. ET game. But Minnesota played a 1 p.m. diversion on Sunday and has a shorter moody to its game. The Redskins were still cheering negotiating ploys during their ubiquitous manager during midnight and substantially didn’t get to nap until 3 a.m. or after on Monday morning.

The Sunday-to-Thursday send is never easy for any highway team, though generally the teams are personification a day diversion Sunday and a night diversion on Thursday, creation a turnaround about 100 hours — severe though manageable. It’s not as if those 12 hours will doom a Redskins or they’d be that much fresher if they’d played a 1 p.m. or 4:25 p.m. ET diversion on Sunday, though it’s a clearly nonessential chastisement that theoretically could have simply been rectified. Or, we don’t know, maybe a whole NFL report would have collapsed like a Jenga diversion house if they’d pulled Skins-Packers off SNF. Thus is a magic, poser and sovereignty of a NFL schedule.

This isn’t a usually schedule-related beef a Redskins have this year. They and (coincidentally) a Packers are a usually dual teams in a NFL to have a three-game highway outing in 2016.

The NFL done adult for Green Bay’s tour opposite a U.S. by giving it a four-game home mount that authorised a Packers to be in Green Bay from Sept. 19 to Oct. 28. The Redskins, meanwhile, aren’t during FedEx Field for some-more than back-to-back weeks.

Is entrance adult with a report for NFC East teams (who tend to play some-more games on primetime and in stand-alone games) difficult? It seems that approach given a Redskins’ issues and this one by a Eagles, that indeed competence have the misfortune report gift of 2016: In Weeks 7, 8 and 9, Philly played 3 true games in that its opponent was entrance off a bye week. The Vikings, Cowboys and Giants, respectively, any had been complacent around their byes a prior week. Philly managed to go 1-2 in that widen and actually scored a same volume of points as their 3 opponents in total.

No other group had to play 3 games (in this whole season) opposite teams entrance off their bye. Only 4 other teams are face two teams entrance off a bye this season, and only one (Jacksonville) had to do that back-to-back. Oh, and if that wasn’t bad enough, the Eagles had their bye in Week 4, when a group was on a prohibited strain to open a deteriorate 3-0. Since afterwards a group is 2-5. (Give 8 teams a bye any week from Weeks 7-10. Yes, there won’t be as many games, though I’ll consider we’ll all tarry a weekend but Tennessee-Houston.)

But a NFL possibly intentionally or incidentally done adult for that severe widen for a Eagles: The final diversion in both of those three-game highway trips for Washington and Green Bay? Both are in Philadelphia.
